3 Healthy Summer Refreshments to Stay Hydrated!

The weather seems to be heating up and summer is right around the corner. Enjoy these healthy summer beverages to stay hydrated this summer (and year round too!)

Watermelon Aguas Fresca by Elana’s Pantry

2 cups watermelon, sliced into 1-inch cubes, discard rinds
¼ cup lime juice, fresh squeezed
10 drops stevia
ice (lots)

Place watermelon, lime juice and stevia in a blender and puree on highest setting until liquefied. Fill 2 large glasses to the top with ice. Pour watermelon mixture over ice. Serve

My Green Smoothie by Muscle Chick

1 scoop Vega Whole Food Optimizer (plant based protein)
.25 c frozen blueberries
2-3 large frozen strawberries
.5 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
handful raw spinach
1/2 small banana
stevia (just a pinch)
.5 c alfalfa sprouts (optional)- these really add a “sprouty” flavor, so only if you like them
1 tsp coconut oil
handful ice
about 2.5 c water



Watermelon Lemonade by Smitten Kitchen 

1/4 cup (2 ounces) fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup (4 ounces) fresh watermelon puree, strained through a coarse strainer to remove seeds
3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) simple syrup (Simmer one part water with one part sugar. Let cool.)
3/4 cup (6 ounces) cold water

Stir it all together and serve over ice.
